One of my favourite museums in Sydney! Really small but I spent there few hours! Definitely worth a visit! Free admission

The Nicholson Museum manages to capture the feel of a great archeological museum in what is really quite a compact space. The exhibits are mostly Ancient Greek, the Ancient Near East, Rome and Egypt. I took my 12 year old daughter and a friend to one of their regular activity days. In this case the subject was Ancient Egypt and the kids were able to handle actual artifacts (albeit with gloved hands and under careful supervision). So before you plan a visit check out their website for such activities. Entrance is free.

A wonderful free museum with thousand year old real mummies. Within the Sydney University Quadrangle. Worth a visit for sure.
